Since 1993, AFRO has been working to provide support and service for female sex workers, and is the only community organisation specifically working with and for female sex workers in Hong Kong. We have been developing a wide range of projects and programmes on sexual health, women's health, mental health, anti-drugs education, and rights education. Before the pandemic hit, we served an average of 6,000 users every year.
In the past few years, funding opportunities have
been shrinking, general donations made to AFRO have also dropped significantly.
We are thankful that most programme expenditures covered by several funding sources, however, our reserves will only cover
our operating expenses (administrative cost and rent etc.) until December 2024.
